Scientists in Parks

We are seeking an intern with a strong GIS and urban planning background to collect baseline data using an RTK GPS system, and to produce a geodatabase that can inform future planning efforts at Boston National Historical Park.  By collecting and managing high accuracy GIS data, a Scientists in Parks Intern will help the park complete the first critical step in developing a climate resiliency plan for CNY that will preserve historic features and infrastructure while also fostering inspirational experiences for all visitors.

Youth Employment & Engagement

The Youth Employment & Engagement Internship will provide support to the Hill to Harbor Corps. Hill to Harbor Corps is a summer youth employment opportunity for 15-18 year old high schoolers to work in a team setting alongside park staff to facilitate the summer recreation program for local camp groups.  During this full-time, 10-week position the Youth Employment & Engagement Intern will engage and support Hill to Harbor Corps members through coaching and mentorship as corps members plan and implement teambuilding activities, develop best practices and techniques in facilitating programs, and boost youth confidence in facilitating recreational activities for campers from YMCAs and Boys & Girls Clubs.

Youth Engagement and Digital Media Program Assistant

The Program Assistant will support Storytellers in Parks – a Youth Conservation Corp program that focuses on the sights, sounds, and stories of Boston’s diverse history, landscapes, and communities – by mentoring 5-10 youth participants in media production. The Program Assistant will also contribute to updating and maintaining park websites and partner affiliated portals with current program information and sharing youth work to the public including displays at park visitor centers.

Youth Engagement Consultant

Youth Engagement Consultantswill collaborate with a variety of partners to successfully engage local youth with their Boston Harbor Islands National and State Parkand National Parks of Boston. The incumbent will work with colleagues to coordinate, develop, and facilitate school programming, and may contribute to curriculum reorganization and refinement efforts.
