Historic Preservation Corps

The SCA, AmeriCorps, and Massachusetts Service Alliance has partnered with MA Department of Conservation and Recreation and the National Park Service to offer a unique opportunity for young adults looking to gain leadership and hands-on experience in the field of Historic Preservation. The goals of the program are three-fold: to build the next generation of preservation leaders; to preserve historic places across Massachusetts while developing apprentice level preservation skills in carpentry, masonry, landscape management; and to serve where there is a need in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

"The first five months of the program has done nothing but exceeded my expectations. I have grown by learning new skills, becoming more experienced with new tools, and being more confident in myself each and everyday. This is the outcome of learning new skills from others and professionals, from my mistakes and growing from them, and being prepared each day."
